PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device having a good track followup ability provided by securing shock resistance performance and reducing disk runout. SOLUTION: Medium rotation support rigidity is secured by providing an air film lubricant surface 18 on the medium surface side of the recording medium 4 of a ramp member 1303 used for head loading/unloading so as to generate an air film spring in the outer edge part of the recording medium 4 rotated at a high speed. Thus, since track fluctuation caused by runout vibration is suppressed, a track following capability is secured even for a high track density device by reducing a head positioning error.
