PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents providing method, a server and a communication terminal of a traveling object for enabling the server which provides position relevant contents, to receive information of a current position acquired by a designated position information acquiring method from the communication terminal of a traveling object, and to provide the position relevant contents whose contents are matched with the position precision of the current position to the communication terminal of a traveling object. SOLUTION: A server 40 writes acquisition method designation method for designating the position information acquiring method of a communication terminal 10 of a traveling object in the transmission destination information describing part of contents for transmitting position information to be used by the communication equipment 10 of the traveling object, and transmits the contents for transmitting the position information including the transmission destination information describing part where the acquisition method designation method has been written, to the communication terminal 10 of the traveling object. The server receives the information of the current position of the communication terminal 10 of the traveling object acquired by using the position information acquisition method designated by the acquisition method designation information from the communication terminal 10 of the traveling object.
