<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receptacle in which stable optical coupling is maintained when an external force is imparted to an inserted ferrule, and also to provide receptacle type optical isolators and optical modules using this receptacle including LD, LED, PD modules, etc.. <P>SOLUTION: The receptacle is characterized in that it is equipped with a built-in stub ferrule 14 which holds an optical fiber 15, an elastic sleeve 21 which, having nearly the same diameter as the built-in stub ferrule, optically couples optical waveguides to maintain the state by inserting from the outside an inserting ferrule 16 holding an optical fiber 17 and by bringing it into contact with the end of one optical waveguide of the built-in stub ferrule 14, and a first and a second metallic sleeve 12, 13 which hold the elastic sleeve 21 and the built-in stub ferrule 14, wherein the joined part between the metallic sleeves is welded. The invention includes the optical isolator installed in the end of one optical waveguide of the built-in stub ferrule, or the receptacle type optical module composed of optical semiconductor element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
