<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a yield, to enhance productivity and to lower manufacturing cost by realizing more efficient plates combination with even defect information taken into consideration when cutting a steel plate and a steel tape to obtain a plate component. <P>SOLUTION: A steel plate or steel tape whose order is received is manufactured in advance, and defect inspection is applied to the manufactured steel plate or steel tape. When shape information of a plate component being merchandise obtained by cutting the steel plate or steel tape, the shape of the steel plate or steel tape and defective part information are input to a computer, a plate combination calculation for determining a cutting position in the steel plate or steel tape to avoid a defect that inhibits a plate component from merchandising and obtain the plate component by computer calculations is performed on the basis of the shape information of the plate component, the shape of the steel plate or steep tape and the defective part information.
