PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the function of a field core as a back yoke while enlarging a field magnet. SOLUTION: An armature 2 is surrounded by the inner circumferential surface 18 of a field piece 1A. A field piece magnet 10 is buried in a field piece core 100 and has magnetic field faces 101N, 102S opposing the inner circumferential surface 18, and magnetic field faces 101S, 102N opposing the outer circumferential surface 17. The inner circumferential magnetic pole faces 101N of N pole adjoin mutually at an adjoining position 15 in the circumferential direction, and inner circumferential magnetic pole faces 102S of S pole adjoin mutually at an adjoining position 16 in the circumferential direction. The inner circumferential magnetic pole faces 101N and 102S adjoin mutually through a boundary 103 at a flux impediment position 13 existing between two adjoining positions 15 and 16 in the circumferential direction. The boundary 103 impedes flow of flux between the inner circumferential surface 18 and the outer circumferential surface 17. End of the field magnet at the flux impediment position 13 of the field piece magnet 10 is closer to the inner circumferential surface 18 than the end on the opposite side.
