A VOD service providing method for providing previously cached conversion contents using a caching technique, a contents conversion server therefor and a customized service system are provided to provide the conversion contents in order to be suitable for the terminal in mobile environment. An application server(110) receives a video on demand requirement message. A conversion contents caching validation request message about the contents corresponding to the content information is transmitted. A streaming service connection information is generated. The streaming service access request message is received and a streaming server(120) transmits the conversion contents require-message. The contents convert server(130) receives the conversion contents caching whether to receive the validation request message from the application server. The conversion contents caching acknowledgment message is transmitted to the application server. The conversion contents require-message is received from the streaming server. The conversion contents is searched and transmits a message to the streaming server.
