<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device including a signal processing portion, which reduces power consumption and a heating value. <P>SOLUTION: The display device includes a memory that is divided into two or more sub-memories which receive power independently, a video signal processing portion for outputting a second video signal from a first video signal having a first bit size or a second bit size which is smaller than the first bit size using the memory and a display panel for displaying a video image corresponding to the second video signal. Power is supplied to desired one of the sub-memories according to the bit number of the first video signal.
