摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing device capable of appropriately detecting a focus state of an optical system.SOLUTION: The focusing device comprises: a focus detection section 21 detecting a focus state of an optical system by calculating an evaluation value related to contrast of an image by the optical system while driving a focusing lens 32 in the optical axis direction; a first acquisition section 21 acquiring a minimum open aperture value out of a plurality of open aperture values corresponding to a lens position of the focusing lens 32 as a minimum open aperture value; a second acquisition section 21 acquiring the current number of stages of the aperture; a calculation section 21 calculating a minimum aperture value at the current number of stages of the aperture as a minimum aperture value on the basis of the minimum open aperture value and the current number of stages of the aperture; and a control section 21 causing the focus detection section 21 to perform focus detection while driving the focusing lens 32. The control section 21 determines the driving speed of the focusing lens 32 in detection of the focus state of the optical system by the focus detection section while driving the focusing lens, on the basis of the minimum aperture value.
