PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and an image display method in which a display image disturbance due to update delay of drawing data stored in a frame buffer hardly occurs.SOLUTION: An image display device 10 includes: a frame buffer 7; a display unit 8; a vertical synchronization detection unit 2; a drawing data storage unit 4 having a frame buffer transfer area 43 and an update content data area 42; and a drawing control unit 6. The drawing control unit 6 receives contents constituting a display pattern displayed on the display unit 8 and generates a content profile defining the contents, and receives a notification of vertical synchronization signal detection and transfers drawing data for transfer stored in the frame buffer transfer area 43 to the frame buffer 7, and changes the drawing data for transfer by transferring drawing data for update of the update content data area to be a target, which is determined on the basis of an update period included in the content profile to the frame buffer transfer area 43. |
