Provided is an arm robot (1) equipped with: a distal end part (50) for working on a workpiece; a first arm (10) in which is placed a first drive part (11) that has a ball screw the shaft of which is placed in the axial direction of a first motor, a pulley in which the distal end part (50) is placed, and a belt which is suspended around the pulley, the belt enveloping the first motor and the ball screw, being connected to the ball screw, and traveling in the axial direction of the first motor, and the first drive part (11) rotatably driving the distal end part (50); and a second arm (20) in which is placed a second drive part (21) that has either a bevel gear mechanism which subjects the drive power of the second motor to a right-angle speed reduction and in which the first arm (10) is placed, or a strain wave gear mechanism for reducing the speed of the drive power of the second motor through a differential between an ellipse and a true circle, the second drive part (21) rotatably driving the first arm (10). |
