PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide fiber for artificial hair, easily producible, and having surface gloss and texture similar to human hair.SOLUTION: The fiber for artificial hair has single fiber fineness of at least 20dtex and mainly comprises an aromatic polyester resin, the fiber containing 0.1 to 5 mass% of polystyrene polymers and having an irregular surface. It is preferable that the aromatic polyester resin is a polyethylene terephthalate resin and contains a pigment, and that the polystyrene polymer has a glass transition temperature that is 5°C higher than the glass transition temperature of the aromatic polyester resin. The method for manufacturing the fiber comprises melt spinning the aromatic polyester resin containing 0.1 to 5 mass% of the polystyrene polymers so as to achieve a single fiber fineness of 20dtex.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
