PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degree of freedom of timing for starting generation of a webbing draw-out load.SOLUTION: A retractor for seat belts comprises a take-up drum 30, a rotation regulation member, e.g. a ratchet gear 61, switchable between a rotatable state and a rotation-restricted state, a relay member, e.g. a torsion bar 38, attached on one end side to one of the take-up drum 30 and the rotation restriction member so as to be incapable of relative rotation and a restriction mechanism 92. The restriction mechanism 92 is arranged between the other of the take-up drum 30 and the rotation regulation member and the other end side of the relay member. In the state where the other of the take-up drum 30 and the rotation regulation member and the relay member are before undergoing a specified amount of relative rotation, the restriction mechanism 92 allows relative rotation between the other of the take-up drum 30 and the rotation regulation member and the relay member. After the other of the take-up drum 30 and the rotation restriction member and the relay member undergo the specified amount of relative rotation, the regulation mechanism restricts the other of the take-up drum 30 and the rotation restriction member and the relay member so as to be incapable of relative rotation. |
