PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for dampers having excellent mechanical properties in addition to high damping performance and good temperature-dependence of rigidity in a single body. SOLUTION: The rubber for damper contains (A) a rubber compound composed mainly of a silicone rubber, (B) a partly crosslinked butyl rubber and (C) a peroxide-based crosslinking agent. The amount of the component B is preferably 3-100 pts. wt. based on 100 pts. wt. of the component A. The produced rubber composition has good temperature-dependency of silicone rubber and high damping property of partly crosslinked butyl rubber, and both rubber components are crosslinked with the peroxide to suppress the lowering of the mechanical properties caused by the decomposition of butyl rubber.
