PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of image misregistration in a fixing device having a plurality of fixing nip parts formed therein. SOLUTION: A toner image on a recording paper passing a first nip part disposed nearest to the paper entrance side, out of the first nip part formed by pressing a belt 44 to a fixing roller 41 with a pressure roller 42, a second nip part formed by pressing the belt 44 to the fixing roller 41 with a peeling roller 43, and a virtual nip part which is brought into contact with the fixing roller between the first and second nip parts but doesn't have a pressing force given thereto, is heated up to a state free from low-temperature offset.
