<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for a swash-plate type compressor in which rigidity of the bridge part in a tail part is improved, while restraining a weight-increase of the piston. <P>SOLUTION: The piston comprises a head part inserted in a cylinder bore, and the tail part engaged with the swash plate. In the tail part, a pair of shoe-holding parts having a shoe-holding spherical-recesses, and a bridge part for jointing the pair of shoe-holding parts to each other.
