<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open and move a door by securely driving a door opening actuator after releasing foreign matters caught between a vehicle body and the door. <P>SOLUTION: In this door latch device, when a striker and a latch are brought into a half latch state by a door closing operation, a closing actuator 21 is driven to bring the striker and the latch into a full latch state to engage a ratchet with the latch so as to restrict the movement of the latch in an engagement release direction in order to maintain the door in a closed state relative to the vehicle body, and when a door opening operation is performed, the engaged state of the ratchet with the latch is released. The door latch device comprises clutch means 2221 and 2511 cutting off the transmission of power from the closing actuator 21 to the latch when these clutch means are brought into an OFF state so that, when the door opening operation is performed, the clutch means 2221 and 2511 are brought into the OFF state after the engaged state of the rachet with the latch is released. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
