<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for changing an irradiation direction of a head lamp capable of changing an optical axis direction of the head lamp so as to visually check an obstacle detected by picked-up image data. <P>SOLUTION: In the system for changing the irradiating direction of the head lamp, an image recognition processing is performed by acquiring image data imaged by an imaging unit for imaging the exterior of the vehicle, the obstacle is detected on the basis of the result of the processing, so that the optical axis direction of the head lamp is changed for the obstacle detected by the operation of one or a plurality of actuators, and further, judgement about the presence and absence of the obstacle in the image data acquired from the imaging unit is made and, if yes, the distance and the direction to the obstacle is calculated, and the optical direction of the head lamp is changed according to such a direction as to permit irradiation to the obstacle in accordance with the calculated distance and direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
