OPTICAL FILM, POLARIZING PLATE, OPTICAL MEMBER AND PROJECTION TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film suitable as a new protective film suitable for a polarizing plate capable of controlling variation of contrast values, the polarizing plate comprising the optical film and a polarizing film, an optical member comprising the polarizing plate and a transparent base material and a projection type liquid crystal display device which comprises the optical member and has a fixed contrast value.

SOLUTION: The optical film is obtained by sticking two transparent protective films each having an optical axis to each other so that the optical axes are made to cross each other at almost right angles. The polarizing plate is obtained by sticking the optical film to at least one side of the polarizing film. The optical member is obtained by sticking the polarizing plate to the transparent base material. The projection type liquid crystal display device has the optical member.
