PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamable fireproof coating material having excellent dryability and forming a foamed carbonized layer having sufficient foamability, strength, etc., in fire hazard to exhibit excellent fireproof performance. SOLUTION: The foamable fireproof coating material contains (A) an emulsion of a synthetic resin having an anionic functional group, (B) a phosphorus compound, (C) a polyhydric alcohol, (D) a urethane compound having a tertiary amino group and a polyalkylene oxide group and (E) a volatile base.
