PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an anomaly or failure of a far-infrared sensor caused by irradiation of a large amount of far-infrared rays. SOLUTION: A control section 103 checks each far-infrared detection pixel owned by an far-infrared sensor 101 to determine whether or not the quantity of a far-infrared ray detected by the far-infrared detection pixel is equal to or greater than a first quantity. When the quantity of a far-infrared ray detected by any far-infrared detection pixel is equal to or greater than the first quantity, the control section closes a shutter 102 and then checks each far-infrared detection pixel to determine whether or not the quantity of far-infrared rays detected by the far-infrared sensor 101 is smaller than a second quantity not greater than the first quantity. If the quantity of the far-infrared ray detected by any far-infrared detection pixel is smaller than the second quantity, the control section opens the shutter 102. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
