PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module which is compact and has a large transmission capacity.SOLUTION: An optical module of the present invention includes: a housing; a first substrate; an optical connector for external connection which is located at one end of the housing at a distance from the first substrate and has a transmission terminal and a reception terminal; a transmission section having a first predetermined number of output terminals and a reception section having a second predetermined number of input terminals, both located on a surface of the first substrate; the first predetermined number or more of transmission optical fibers located between the transmission terminal and the output terminals of the transmission section; the second predetermined number or more of reception optical fibers located between the reception terminal and the input terminals of the reception section; and a fiber storage tray which is located on a back surface of the first substrate to store the transmission fibers and the reception fibers. |
