The invention relates to a dual clutch transmission for a motor vehicle, having gear sets which can be shifted via shifting elements and which in particular form exactly eight wheel planes (RE-1 to RE-8), each allocated to a first sub-transmission (A) and to a second sub-transmission (B), of which each sub-transmission (A, B) has an input shaft (22, 23) and both sub-transmissions (A, B) have a common driven shaft (24), wherein the input shafts (22, 23), which are coaxial to each other, can each be activated in alternation by a clutch (K1, K2) which is shiftable under load, and the even forward gears are allocated to the first sub-transmission (A) and the odd forward gears are allocated to the second sub-transmission (B), which are shiftable during a gear shift via the shifting elements (SE-A to SE-G), wherein the dual clutch transmission has an intermediate wheel plane (RE-5) which is shiftable either on the first sub-transmission (A) or on the second sub-transmission (B). According to the invention, a reverse gear (R) is formed by a reverse gear shaft (50), which is axially parallel to the input shafts (22, 23), and on which there are two reversing gear wheels (51, 53), of which the first reversing gear wheel (51) can be coupled to a wheel plane (RE-2) of one of the sub-transmissions (A) and the second reversing gear wheel (53) can be coupled to the intermediate wheel plane (RE-5). |
