A device and method for processing an image to be displayed on an OLED display. The device comprises: a block dividing unit (10) for dividing a to-be-displayed image into a plurality of blocks; an average grayscale value determination unit (20) for determining an average grayscale value of each block; a high grayscale block determination unit (30) for determining the block having an average grayscale value greater than a predetermined threshold to be a high grayscale block; an adjacent grayscale value determination unit (40) for determining an adjacent grayscale value of each of high grayscale blocks, wherein the adjacent grayscale value of any high grayscale block is a weighted sum of the average grayscale values of all adjacent high grayscale blocks, and the adjacent high grayscale blocks is a high grayscale block adjacent to the high grayscale block; and an adjustment unit (50) for adjusting grayscale values of pixels of each of the high grayscale blocks according to the adjacent grayscale value of each of the high grayscale blocks. The device adjusts a grayscale by using a block as a unit, and takes into account differences between luminous efficiencies and transmittances of different color components of a pixel, thus effectively extending a service life of an OLED.
