PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp driving device capable of suppressing a decrease in lighting performance while suppressing damage to an element when turning on a discharge lamp.SOLUTION: One aspect of a discharge lamp driving device of the present invention comprises: a resonance circuit unit connected to a discharge lamp; a power conversion unit which converts DC power to AC power and supplies the AC power to the discharge lamp via the resonance circuit unit; and a control unit which supplies AC power having a first frequency and a second frequency higher than the first frequency to the discharge lamp during a lighting start period lasting till the discharge lamp reaches a steady lighting state. The first frequency is a frequency which causes resonance of the resonance circuit unit, and the second frequency is a sub-resonance frequency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
