Abstract An electronic gaming machine (1) comprises a display (7) for displaying a game and an electronic game controller (4) for controlling the display of game symbols on the display. The electronic game controller (4) enables the player to select a bet option from a plurality of bet options. Two or more bet options are associated with a combination of two or more unique game symbols and at least two bet options are associated with different combinations of said unique game symbols. In response to a player selecting one of the associated bet options, the electronic gaming machine awards a prize for said combination of said two or more game symbols associated with said selected bet option when said combination appears in a play of said game.
