PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine with a reduction gear, capable of obtaining a correct rotor revolution speed at regenerative power generation while satisfying an engine start function, and capable of efficient regenerative power generation.SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes: a motor unit 4; a revolving shaft 23 helically engaged with a rotor core 24; a speed reduction mechanism 5 capable of engaging with the sun gear 41 of the revolving shaft 23; and a drive shaft 6 capable of engaging with the sun gear 41. When the revolving shaft 23 rotates by the drive of the motor unit 4, the revolving shaft 23 is connected to the speed reduction mechanism 5 and the connection of the revolving shaft 23 with the drive shaft 6 is canceled, whereas when the drive shaft 6 rotates earlier than the revolving shaft 23, the connection of the revolving shaft 23 with the speed reduction mechanism 5 is canceled, and the revolving shaft 23 is connected to the drive shaft 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
