PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photochromic member with a novel configuration, which exhibits photochromism with a gradational portion when irradiated with ultraviolet rays.SOLUTION: A photochromic member 11 provided herein, such as spectacle lens and sunglasses, includes a photochromic layer 13 made of organic or inorganic glass containing a photochromic dye, the photochromic layer 13 having a tapering portion in which ultraviolet absorbance gradually decreases in planar view. As such the photochromic member exhibits photochromism with a gradational portion when irradiated with ultraviolet rays.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
