ACCESS METHOD FOR MAKING BRACHIAL PLEXUS BLOCK

FIELD: medicine. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves puncturing a region at the level of external interscalene space portion projection upon clavicle with needle enclosed in overneedle catheter placed 2-3 cm below the clavicle. The needle cranially conducted through subcutaneous fat and then directly under the clavicle at an angle of 40-60° to fascial compartment until break-through feeling appears. The needle is removed through the overneedle catheter. Next, flexible catheter is introduced via the overneedle catheter and the latter is removed. The flexible catheter is fixed to skin. ^ EFFECT: reduced risk of lung and nerve trunk injuries; reliable catheter fixation.
