There are provided a reproduction device, a reproduction method, a recording device, a recording method, a recording medium, and a program enabling a user to easily search for a desired scene in content data. Information used for search is recorded together with the content data on an optical disc. The data recorded on the optical disc contains at least a main body of the content data and scene addition information for displaying a predetermined menu screen on an external display device in the reproduction device. Scene addition information having a data structure containing information indicating the IN point and the OUT point of the scene and information on each scene defining a plurality of pairs of a search key and a value are recorded together with the content data on the optical disc. The number of these information is equal to the number of scenes. The present invention may be applied to a recording device, a reproduction device, and a recording medium such as an optical disc.
