<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to efficiently record image data by surely reducing an amount of the image data even in the case of adopting a reversible coding system. <P>SOLUTION: Huffman coding processing is applied to the image data being RAW data to produce compressed image data. Then whether or not an amount of the compressed image data (compressed data amount) is greater than a data amount (raw data amount) in a non-compression state is discriminated. When the amount of the compressed image data is greater than the amount of the image data, the generated compressed image data are not recoded on a memory card, instead the image data are recorded on the memory card as they are (S104). On the other hand, when the amount of the compressed image data is smaller than the amount of the image data, the generated compressed image data are recoded on the memory card (S103). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
