An aluminum alloy for die casting characterized by comprising 0.5-2.5 wt.% Mn, 0.2-1.0 wt.% Cr, 0.1-0.5 wt.% Ti, 0.1-0.5 wt.%, excluding 0.5 wt.%, Mg, and Al; a molding obtained by die-casting this aluminum alloy for die casting; and a molded article obtained by subjecting the surface of this molding to a treatment for alumite formation. The aluminum alloy has excellent die-castability. The molding has a high hardness. By subjecting the surface of this molding to a treatment for alumite formation, a molded article having excellent sheen is obtained.
