Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for positioning a sounding location and a terminal device. The method comprises: collecting K first sound signals, K being an integer greater than or equal to 2; extracting M second sound signals from the K first sound signals according to N position parameters corresponding to N different positions, M being less than N and N being an integer greater than or equal to 2; and determining a position corresponding to each second sound signal. In the embodiments of the present invention, by using a beamforming algorithm, M second sound signals are extracted from K first sound signals according to position parameters, so as to determine a sounding position corresponding to each second signal. By means of the method, sound signals from different positions can be efficiently extracted, a speech recognition ability is provided, and a better user experience is provided to a user. |
