PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous dispersion of organic and inorganic hybrid particles with a stable dispersion, an even particle size and a good degree of sphericity. SOLUTION: The method for producing the aqueous dispersion of organic inorganic hybrid particles comprises a step producing a mixture by dissolving or dispersing a polyvalent metal alkoxide or a hydrolytic condensation product of the polyvalent metal alkoxide, in an aqueous solution of a resin having anionic groups in which at least a part of the groups are neutralized with a basic compound, and then a step subjecting the polyvalent metal alkoxide or a hydrolytic condensation product of the polyvalent metal alkoxide to the hydrolytic condensation. And then emulsifying or atomizing the mixture by reducing solubility of the resin in the mixture and gelling the hydrolytic condensation product the polyvalent metal alkoxide.
