PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce slide resistance between a guide plate and a sheet by composing a carrying path of a saddle processing tray of a linear path and a curvature path, and providing a retraction mechanism for an inner guide for the curvature path when a sheet is carried. SOLUTION: In this sheet processing device, a carrying passage of the saddle processing tray 40 is composed of a linear part and a curvature part. A sheet bundle is arranged and stitched at the linear part. For keeping a tip part of the sheet bundle at the curvature part in a non-restrained state, the inner guide 45 at the curvature part is formed as an upper half. The inner guide 45 at the curvature part is capable of retracting in a sticking direction of a sticking plate 72, and when the sheet bundle is carried at the curvature part, it is retracted to a retraction position. For folding, it is interlocked with the sticking plate 72 to move in the sticking direction for pressing the sheet bundle. Otherwise, the inner guide 45 moves before the sticking plate 72 to press the sheet sheet bundle, and the sticking plate 72 moves to fold the sheet bundle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
