PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of adjusting fixing force and peeling force according to the quality of paper and prolonging replacement period of a component, and to provide an image forming apparatus that has the same. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes a fixing roller 110, an endless belt 120 brought partly into contact with the outer circumferential surface of the fixing roller and supported turnably; a plurality of pressing members 131a, arranged parallel to the rotation axis of the fixing roller and bringing the endless belt into press contact with the fixing roller; a plurality of separation means 132a for making the endless belt 120 bite into the fixing roller; a support member 130 for attaching them; and a moving means 150 moving the support member. The moving means moves the support member so that each of the pressing members can alternately bring the endless belt into press contact with the fixing roller. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
