PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding screen device capable of always securely stretching a screen without slack in it even if the screen expands due to long term use. SOLUTION: The folding screen device includes two panel members 1 connected by hinge means 2 so as to be opened or closed; and a screen 5 connected to the open end of the one panel member at one end, and to the open end of the other panel member at the other end. When both the panel members 1 are closed, the screen is accommodated in an accommodating space defined inside. At least the one end of the screen 5 is connected to the panel member via a tension applying means 11. The tension applying means applies tension to the screen when both the panel members are opened, thereby stretching the screen without slack in it. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
