PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily adjust a focal length with simple constitution. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: an optical unit 20 which has an optical window 16, is fixed in a hermetically sealed housing 11, and has a lens 22 for condensing light beams; a detector 30 which has a heater, is fixed in the housing 11 through a connecting member 40 that thermally expands by heating, and images the condensed light beams in an imaging position; a monitor 50 which displays the picked-up image; and a power source 60 which heats the connecting member 40. The focal length is adjusted by thermally expanding the connecting member 40, and then, displacing the detector 30 in the direction of the optical axis K of the optical unit 20.
