PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the miniaturization of an apparatus as a whole while preventing such a failure that vibration generated when a paper P is cut is transmitted to an exposure part for the paper P, in an image forming apparatus including an image recording part for forming an image by exposing the emulsion surface of the paper P in a prescribed exposure position 24 while conveying the paper P, and a cutter 11 for cutting the paper P in prescribed length. SOLUTION: The cutter 11 is provided on the side opposite to the side of supplying/conveying the paper P toward the exposure position 24 with reference to the exposure position 24. After finishing exposing the paper P in the exposure position 24, the exposed paper P is cut off an unexposed paper P1 by the cutter 11, then, the unexposed paper P1 is conveyed in a direction (direction B) opposite to the conveying direction, and returned to a prescribed position.
