<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device having high reliability that will not cause deterioration in panel characteristics, such as transmittance and haze. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device has a silicone film 9, adhered via an adhesive to the surface of a display section of the image display device, with the adhesive obtained by polymerization of an unsaturated monomer composition, containing a hydroxyl group-containing ethylenic unsaturated monomer at at least 70 wt.% and having the glass transition temperature range of -40 to 60°C. The silicone film 9 is preferably constituted of a single film.
