PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of a secondary battery caused by leaving a battery pack to stand for a long period of time in a high voltage state. SOLUTION: The microcomputer 10 of the battery pack has an operation state of a normal mode and a deterioration suppression mode of which the power consumption is larger than that of the normal mode. In the normal mode, when the voltage of the battery pack is equal to or more than a threshold value Th1 and equal to or more than a prescribed threshold value during elapsed time in an unused state, the microcomputer 10 is shifted from the normal mode to the deterioration suppression mode. In the deterioration suppression mode, the battery pack is put into a use state or when the voltage of the secondary battery 1 is smaller than a second voltage threshold value Th2, the microcomputer 10 is shifted from the deterioration suppression mode to the normal mode.
