<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat antenna having a wide area operation frequency band. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A slot line 15 is formed on the outer side of a slot line 12, and a slot line 16 connected to the slot lines 12 and 15 and spread in a tapered shape is provided further. Thus, since electromagnetic waves propagated on a dielectric substrate 11 are guided in an advancing direction while confining them inside the substrate, side lobes are reduced, and antenna gain and radiation efficiency to a target are improved. Especially, since antenna characteristics on the low band side are substantially improved without degrading antenna characteristics on a high band side, the band of an antenna operation frequency is widened.
