WAVEGUIDE WITH BIDIRECTIONAL OPTICAL TRANSMISSION STRUCTURE

A waveguide with a bidirectional optical transmission structure includes: a main waveguide which is formed in a predefined direction; a branch waveguide which is connected to one end of the main waveguide; and a reflector which is placed at a cross point between one end of the main guide and the branch guide and has a different refractive index from the main waveguide and the branch waveguide. The reflector refracts or reflects an incoming transmitting optical signal and an incoming receiving optical signal in different forms, so the incoming transmitting optical signal progresses along the main waveguide and the incoming receiving optical signal is separated to the branch waveguide. The waveguide does not require additional energy consumption.
