PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of displaying the detection result of a focus adjustment state, without disturbing photographing.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: imaging means receiving a luminous flux from an optical system and outputting a pan focus image whose depth of field is deeper than a predetermined threshold; first selection means selecting a first focus area from a plurality of focus areas provided in an imaging range; edge detection means detecting the edge of the pan focus image; second selection means selecting a second focus area from all other focus areas except the first focus area, including the detected edge; focus detection means detecting the focus adjustment state of the optical system in each of the first and second focus areas; and display means superimposing and displaying the focus adjustment state of the first focus area and the focus adjustment state of the second focus area, detected by the focus detection means on a subject image to be imaged in positions corresponding to the first and second focus areas respectively. |
