A method and apparatus for controlling an application in a terminal. The method comprises: when a terminal is in a sleep state, acquiring terminal state information corresponding to one or more peripheral devices of a terminal device (S102); and according to a set formed by the terminal state information of one or more peripheral devices, performing a control operation, corresponding to a set, on a specified application in the terminal device (S104). By using the technical scheme, the problem in the related art is solved that an application in a mobile phone cannot be operated because, to reduce power consumption of a sensor in the mobile phone, the sensor also enters a sleep state when the mobile phone is in a sleep state; and accordingly, use functions of a terminal device is enriched, and the experience degree of a user is greatly improved. |
