An objective of the present invention is to provide a capacitor and capacitor module that have a long service life and operate stably. In order to do so, a cell is filled with an electrolyte solution L, in which an electrolyte salt that is less hydrolyzable than an amidine salt having an imidazolium cation and that has high reaction potential at the electrode is dissolved in a solvent and an auxiliary solvent that decreases the resistance of the electrolyte solution. The electrolyte salt is a quaternary ammonium salt, the solvent is propylene carbonate, and the auxiliary solvent is dimethyl carbonate. The quaternary ammonium salt is triethylmethylammonium tetrafluoroborate or azacyclobutane-1-spyro-1'-azacyclobutyl tetrafluoroborate. A pressure adjustment valve 6 that adjusts the internal pressure in the cell is provided. The part of the electrolyte solution L that is to be vaporized during use is poured into the cell in advance as surplus electrolyte solution.
