PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating a base material that can accurately and non-destructively evaluate damages of a base material made of such a crystal-controlled alloy as a directionally solidified alloy or a monocrystal alloy.SOLUTION: The method for evaluating a base material according to an embodiment is for evaluating the characteristics of a base material of an evaluation target member. The evaluation target member has the base material anisotropic to elastic characteristics, and a coating film on the surface of the base material. The method uses a surface acoustic wave including information on the base material and propagating in a direction specific to the base material, for evaluation of the base material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
