PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface coated cemented carbide made cutting tool with a hard coating layer displaying excellent abrasion resistance in high speed cutting work of heat resisting alloy. SOLUTION: This surface coated cemented carbide made cutting tool is constituted by forming the hard coating layer constituted of (a) an under layer having average layer thickness of 0.8 to 5μm and made of a (Ti, Al, Si)N layer to satisfy a composition formula: (Ti<SB>1-(X+Z)</SB>Al<SB>X</SB>Si<SB>Z</SB>)N (but X shows 0.25 to 0.65 and Z shows 0.01 to 0.10 in atomic ratio) and (b) an upper layer made of a CrB<SB>2</SB>layer having average layer thickness of 0.8 to 5μm on a surface of a cemented carbide base made of tungsten carbide group cemented carbide or titanium carbide nitride system cermet.
