PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding furnace for low pressure casting in which crack and breakage on an inner wall surface of a pressurizing part and/or an molten metal tapping part and damage to the inner surface at work for removing material stuck to the inner wall surface are prevented, and consequently good accuracy of pressure control to the molten metal is maintained and the contamination of the molten metal into a metallic mold can be prevented. SOLUTION: The holding furnace 1 for low pressure casting is provided with: a shut-off valve 37 for opening/closing a molten metal flowing passage hole 24 positioned between a molten metal holding chamber 11 and a pressurizing chamber 12; the pressurizing part 32 and the molten metal tapping part 33 each communicated with the pressurizing part 12 at bottom parts; and tube heaters 22, 36 disposed in the molten metal holding chamber 11 and the pressurizing chamber 12, respectively, wherein the inner wall surfaces of the pressurizing part 32 and/or the molten metal tapping part 33 are formed of wall lining members 34, 35 each composed of a cylindrical fine ceramic-made integral fired matter.
