PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device that can switch rotation direction, from regular to reverse and vice versa, of a second rotation member to which power of a first rotation member is transmitted. SOLUTION: The power transmission device 3 wherein a first power transmission unit 7 has the first rotation member 9, the second rotation unit 10 and a first oil pressure chamber 15 and a second power transmission unit 8 has a third rotation member 22, a fourth rotation member 23 and a second oil pressure chamber 27 is equipped with oil supply switch mechanisms 37, 44 for controlling supply/discharge of oil between the first oil pressure chamber 15 and the second oil pressure chamber 27 by controlling connection or disconnection between the rotation member of the first power transmission unit 7 and the rotation member of the second power transmission unit 8 and rotation or stop of the rotation member; and a forward and backward movement switching mechanisms V1, V2 for controlling supply/discharge of the oil between the first oil pressure chamber 15 and the second oil pressure chamber 27 and switching the rotation direction of the rotation member of the second power transmission unit 8.
