PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet-like material for sliding paper screens that is pasted with an appropriate tension without giving any thickness difference between coat layers on the surface and back. SOLUTION: The surface layer 20 of a sheet-like material A1 comprises a resin layer 10 with the thickness of 10-40μm, a Japanese paper layer 22 provided on one side surface of the resin layer 10 and made of the Japanese paper weighing 10-30g/m<SP>2</SP>, and a coat layer 24 with its solid component having an application thickness of 3.0-5.0/m<SP>2</SP>. The back surface layer 30 of this material A1 comprises a Japanese paper layer 32 weighing 20-40g/m<SP>2</SP>heavier than the Japanese paper layer 22 by 3.0-11.0g/m<SP>2</SP>and a coat layer 34 nearly the same in thickness as the coat layer 24.
